Llangernyw - Hugh Williams

Hi listers,   I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. 

My research has mainly been in Llandderfel/Llanfor (Merionethshire), but a marriage entry in the Llandderfel parish records mentions Llangernew as the home parish of the groom:

Marriage 31 August 1789
Hugh Williams (Llangernew) to Margaret Jones  Witnesses Samuel Williams
                                                                                             Jonnet Hughes

Do either of these Williams names figure in your family research, or do you have access to parish records which might help me with Hugh's birth, parentage or siblings?  Hugh and Margaret are my GGG Grandfather & GGG Grandmother and I've now come to another brick wall!

Here are some Hugh Williams baptisms from the Llangernyw parish registers:

Nov 1 1772 Hugh WILLIAMS son of Ellis and Margaret of Brynn y Coed
Feb 4 1761 hugh WILLIAMS son of Hugh and Jane of Cefn Coch

no sign of a Samual Williams born in the same parish though.......

Thank you for that information.  The further back one goes, the harder it is to be sure it's the "right" one. Either could be correct as "my" Hugh had a son called Ellis (my GG grandfather) and also another called Hugh!  I'll keep plodding on.........
