1871 lookup please - Falsgrave, Scarborough: Sarah Dodsworth COMPLETED ,THANKS

Hi could someone please look this one up for me? This girl is the future wife of my g-g-grandfather George Pashby. I know that she is living in Falsgrave at this time as Ancestry tells me that, but won't give any details as I'm not a paid-up member!

She was born in Malton, but I have big problems over her birthdate - according to her census entries she was born 1846/1847, as her age always ends in a 4; so on this census she will probably be 24. However, the only Sarah Dodsworths born in Malton in that period were in June quarter and December quarter of 1844. I think that I have found her in the 1861 census living with James Williamson as a servant? (RG9/3617 Folio: 7 Page: 32)

Perhaps some info here will help me a little ...

Shes 26 in 1871 census -

Sarah Dodsworth assistant unmar 26 Draper Assistant Malton Yorkshire
in house of John and Alice Beckwith and family + 2 other drapers assistants and 2 general servants

Hmmm ... strange.

I've tried looking in the 1881 census, but there is no Sarah Dodsworth that fits this timescale, so she must be married, and the only Sarah Dodsworth that fits this is the one I have in my tree, namely Sarah Pashby (they married 28th June, 1874 in Scarborough), but as I say - the date of birth is wrong.

Don't these folk just make you want to tear your hair out? I wonder if they would have fibbed if they had realised how difficult they were going to make it for their descendants?

In 1851 her birth year is 1845, in 1861 its 1844 and I see in 1891 (as Sarah Pashby) its 1845, so shes fairly consistent most of the time!
