George Smith - Collyweston, Nr. Stamford
« on: Sunday 14 January 07 20:17 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone find me information on George Smith.  He died on 16th April 1941 - Aged 71 years.  He was married to Nancy Jane Hopkinson from Cradley, Hereford.  They had about 9 children.  At least 4 of the girls died in a flu epidemic in the early 1900's - possibly 1918.  They also had Alfred, Arthur, Walter and George.

I am led to believe his father may be George also because it seems to be a family name which has been carried on.  This doesn't always help when researching.  George Smith was a 'slater' and at one time he and his wife ran a pub in Collyweston called 'The Engine'

Thanks in anticipation of some help.
