hi. she married thomas wright they lived in ponypridd. he died there in 1897. she was born there in 1837. that was her name on marriage.

Do you have Thomas and Mary's marriage certificate?  that would give you  her fathers name and where she was living at the time of her marriage.

i can see no Mary Evans b Pontypridd Sept-1837-1841 unless she wa born earlier in the year of 1837.
How sure are you that she was born in Pontypridd?
Did Thomas have a middle name?
 I looked on 1891 census ther is a Thomas and Mary Wright but born ireland.
Does it say what Thomas did for a living on his death certificate?
Did they have any children?
1881 census gives only one Mary wright born 1837 in Pontypool not Pontypridd husband Thomas they have
8 children, thomas is a station master  they are living eglwysilian (this does come under Pontypridd)

Have you missed the point this Mary was born Pontypool monmouthshire not Pontypridd. So why did you think she was born Pontypridd?
