well. i now know that thomas stephen wright married mary howell in 1860.  he was from glouster and she was born in ponypool. they had a son herbert who was born in 1879. i have them on the 1881 census. where the confusion came into it was herbert i thought married a mary ellen as on the death records in whittlesey when he died in 1940 it had a mary ellen who dealt with it. but i have since found out he married a alice may gregory. my dad has confirmed that his nans madian name was gregory. he thinks that the mary ellen was prberly one of there daughters, who was eventually kiied by a horse and cart in the 1940/50 on ramsey rd whittlesey. i hope this clears up the confusion.
