Sgt Thomas Ruther
« on: Thursday 18 January 07 20:58 GMT (UK) »

I am trying to find descendants of Sgt, Farrier 2227 Thomas (Tom) Ruther  who in 1914 was with  "B" Squadron, Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Yeomanry stationed at Newbury Racecourse Berkshire.  He could be the child of one of the following families from Berkeley Glos (my part of the country)
1st
Son of Thomas and Priscilla  nee Taylor, and in 1901 Priscilla was a widow. There was also a Frank age 9yrs

next.
Son of Charles Sarah Ann nee Screen also living in Berkeley with siblings Alfred and Louisa and in 1901 Sarah was also a widow

I have a very small item I wish to give to the rightful recipient which I bought at a Family History Fair in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

This card may have been written by his girlfriend Suey and was posted in Berkeley at 7.30pm, 20 Dec 1914

regards
Alf Beard
