What do the records show - I only know the FreeBMD from England which list 4/6 people and you have to guess who belongs where!?

We get them paired up in the index - and the certificate tells us mother's names too.  As well as ages and birthplaces of the bridal couple.
A quirk of certain indexes show their birthplace in the index (often misunderstood by newbie to be the actual place of marriage - the online index used to say place of event)

A hint for using the Vic online BDM index - unless it has changed -  abbreviated forms will not come up so use a wildcard.  George will not come up if it says Geo.  But will if you use Geo*.   Jno entries will not come up for John, so you have to search separately on them.  Using J* throws in to many results.

But a few of us have the years covered anyhow, so just ask.

Careful what you say 

I did read (for a change) the instructions on the Victorian BMD and saw about the wild cards - but thanks for the tip.
I presume you have better details than the free indexes?

Ann Scott Barnsley who married Charles Wilcher is my 1st cousin (3 times removed!) so quite close really!!
