1841 / 1851 Census lookup please
« on: Saturday 20 January 07 10:28 GMT (UK) »
Good morning,

I am looking for any information on John Lindsay c1827 and his wife Elisabeth (nee Barrie), I sent off for their marriage details hoping it would give me their parents names but was unlucky as it only states the banns. The date given is 15/06/1849 in the Parish of Glencorse, Midlothian. I know they had a son James born c1850 in Scotland, but at some point they left Scotland as their other children were born in England from 1855 onwards.

I am drawn to the idea that John's parents were James and Janet Lindsay but cannot be 100% sure.

Any help appreciated.

Here is a link for the "FreeCen" site.

There is a James & Janet Lindsay in 1941 with a 14 year old son named John.

They were living at Scott's Close, Dalkeith, Midlothian at the time. There was also a Helen, a younger James, and one unnamed child, 12 days old.

James was 58 years old and Janet was 48.
