My window went black...............
« on: Sunday 21 January 07 18:11 GMT (UK) »
Well the people in chatterbox must think me very rude.  Just managed to get in, said hi everyone when my screen went black and so I had to restart the computer again.  Why? I always have trouble getting into chatterbox.

The Chat Room seems very resource intensive.  I've frozen up on a  few occasions when I have been in.

So don't start thinking it is necessarily you.  Constraints can be (a) the numbers in there at any given time, and (b) possibly the amount of work the rootschat servers are doing at that particular time

I am sure a more technically-minded RCer than I could advise on (b) above

This is before considering what's happening at your end of things.

Not enough power ???

I can't use the chatroom as my computer is just too slow (450 MHz, 192 MB RAM).

It's fine for everything else, but as Julian says, the chatroom is "resource-hungry"
