Bryan Cunningham born 1861, Ireland
« on: Monday 22 January 07 14:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello!

Anyone out there got Bryan as one of their ancestors?

He married Frances Dunn (born Houghton le Spring in 1865).  Worked as a coalminer. They had lots of kids, including John Willie, Tom, George, Aggie, Liza Jane, Pat and Bernard, my gf, plus more.

I have quite a bit of info and I can concur that Bryan and a couple of his brothers went to America.
My dad, had a cousin Bernard. My grandad was Thomas, son of Bryan and Frances Dunn. I have all the children's names in a book at home. Was your Bernard perhaps a brother of Bryan? There is no mention of my grandad Thomas having a brother.

Hi Mandy!

My grandad Bernard was the son of Bryan and Frances.  He also had a son called Bernard.  My grandad was sometimes called Barney by the family.  My mam told me about her aunts and uncles, including her uncle Tom and she was especially fond of her Aunt Aggie.

Iīve got a photo of Frances Dunn, or at least a copy of a photo, which my Mam was given many years ago.  Iīll seek it out and scan it.

Iīd heard that Bryan married a lady in America, and that they had a son, but both died in a flood.

Apart from census info and Bryan and Francesīmarriage certificate, I havenīt got much info, other than family tales.

Frances had a daughter before meeting Bryan.  Aunt Liz, who my Mam also adored.

Iīm glad weīre related.  Itīs nice to have a new cousin!

Hi Mandy,

This is Frances.  Itīs just a mobile phone pic which I took this morning.  Will scan the pic and send it to you if you would like me to.

I think she is really beautiful.
