Hi Suzi  :)

First of all Christina mcNaught and William Rae. Looking at the Scotlands People site, I see a marriage of William John Rae to Christina B McNaught in 1905 in Holywood, Dumfriesshire. You could get the full marriage certificate by going to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and registering. It is pay to view but very reasonable. For example, the index search and the certificate would be 6 units = £1.20. Christina's  birth certificate and census info could also be obtained in this way.

Ancestry has the Scottish 1841-1861 census indexes on line.

Would you be able to say what part of Dumfriesshire the others might come from? It would help in searching.

Regards

In 1841, there is a possible David Bell in Tinwald:

849 2 7

David Bell, 64, wheelwright
Jane, 58
Elizabeth, 26
Sophia, 24
Walter Campbell, 1/2 month - all born county

note - Jane/Jean/Janet/Jessie were often used interchangeably
There are no other David Bells that meet your criteria.

On her marriage certificate, Christina was 31 which makes her born circa 1874 not 1884.

Her parents are shown as David McNaught, ploughman, deceased and Janet, maiden surname Porteous.

I shall now re-check the birth records.
