Sutton Belles - still looking

We have been told that our family of girls, who lived in Sutton Surrey were called the Sutton Belles.

One of these was my g.grandmother and if she was a Sutton Belle I am presuming it was before she married and therefore would have been about the 1880/90's.

We'd love to know if they were "famous" outside the family with their nicknames or if it was a family thing.

Would anyone know anything about the Sutton Belles please?
