Hi Jim

Well I am really impressed with you. I would not have thought their baptisms would have been in Staffordshire. I had looked on the IGI but was concentrating on either Worcester where John and Sarah were from and Aston in Warwickshire where the 1851 census shows where the children were born.

I have noticed on the IGI that their was a marriage in Kidderminster 21 NOV 1819 of a John Robinson & Sarah Hill, could that be a possible?

Perhaps I should post to the Staffordshire boar for a lookup of their baptisms and hopefully this will give me Sarah's maden name.

I found a few John Robinson marriages to Sarah in Staffs.Needs more research.

Just to correct your 1851 address:63 Ashted Row,Duddeston & Nechells.
In 1861 John is dead and Sarah is with son Thomas &  Dau. Elizabeth & family.
I've not found a birth for John in Halesowen.

Thanks for putting me right on the 1851 address.

I am not sure of the baptism you found for John snr 1793 in Smethwick. Perhaps I should try and get more details from the Smethwick records for the children's baptisms and work back from that.

I will post on the Stafford board and see if anyone can help me out.

We can't be sure of anything at this point.As John's children were born post 1813 the entry will give father's occupation and address but you will need to view the register for this.I don't see what else you expect to gain as you already know his occupation.
The evidence we can expect is only going to be circumstantial at best that's why I thought John's birth in Smethwick and the father with the same name as John's eldest son was about as good as it gets.
