Trevor, thank you once again.  The John Fitzsimmons in my post was my Great Grandfather.  I feel that I am finally  breaking through what was a brick wall in his history.  We know he attained the rank of sergeant, but this was probably as a reserve.  My cousin has a 'pictogram' drawn by John of the terrain in either Kandahar or Kabul.  It is on parchment.  It had to be steamed out and it is now in a frame.  I am going to see if it could be photographed.  Do you think I should then share it with the website you mentioned?
I would also appreciate you letting me know if the CD you have can be purchased.
I am going to the National Archives in a week and am hoping to get Johns service history.
Regards
Kathb

Hello kathb,

Please do get in touch (PM me) and we can add your g-grandfather to the database (if you agree). I can also look into filling any gaps of his Afghan war service.

Also, if you are able to get a picture of that sketch he made, there is a good chance I could make an identification, I'm sure.

And thanks everyone else for recommending my site! Much appreciated.  :)

Best -
Garen
