Bannell? Where is it?
« on: Saturday 27 January 07 14:25 GMT (UK) »
On the 1851 my George Brown is showing as born Bannell, Cambridgeshire.  On others just Cambridge or Cambridgeshire, Essex.

Does anyone know where Bannell is or was.  He was born cir.1845 and I am having touble locating his birth certificate.

Many thanks
Mazm

Might be Barnwell, also known as St Andrew the Less, Cambridge

Thank you for reply.

Looking at the census sheet again you could well be right.  I have now found a birth certificate that could fit the bill, which I am going to take a chance on and send for.
