I am trying to find any records for this man.In 1810 a Catholic Bible was published by Richards Coyne in Dublin.Printed inside is a list of the subscribers and Patrick Delany,Rathdowney is listed as one.Hand written inside the Bible is a list of the subsequent keepers. The first one is Patrick Delany of Dudley,West Midlands, born in Rathdowney. He received the Bible in 1812.I have found him on the 1841 and 51 census. The next keeper was his son, also Patrick,Bilston, who recieved the Bible in 1837.It was then passed to his daughter in 1888 and she took it to the USA when she emigrated. It is still there today with my US cousin.I believe that Patrick the subscriber, was the father of the first Patrick, born circa 1775, who owned the Bible in 1812.Can anyone find any possible records for Patrick the Subscriber?I am assuming the he had Money in order that he could subscribe to this Bible.
