Further to yesterday's post, I have discovered that George you speak of was my great great grandfather, and his son George was my great grand father.  Harriet would have been my great great grandmother as a result.  I would love to know what became of her if anyone knows.  I haven't been successful in finding a grave for her at this time but the pursuit carries on!

I looked into the deaths but he's not on there...perhaps he died after 1911...Keep checking as they'll add more births, deaths as they go http://www.isc.ca/VitalStatistics/Genealogy/vsgs_srch.aspx
Mind you the story said they lost several children so there should be several on there eventually.  I don't see any at all listed in this town cemetery http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cansacem/indian_head.html

I still can't find them on the 1911...just tried the Qu'appelle district  ??? ( no full surname) listings and still didn't find them....and wondered why the number in the ourroots didn't jive...so just now looked on the Homestead index,
and he is on there now!!!  http://www.saskhomesteads.com

1253526    Polsom, George    NW   20    16    12    W2     So they had 19 instead of 16

Lost my own bet...as I think this is where they should be in 1911 and the right numbers start at  page12 so I guess they may have been missed unless someone can find thos numbers elsewhere? There are TONS of illegible entries, that's certain

thank you for the welcome and your help  :), I have so much to learn about researching and sources!  I found an extensive family tree that someone has put online with Polsom ancestors in common that has greatly taken some of the detective work out of things.  Busily filling in some of the blank spots...amazing work, I plan to email them and tell them so!

Well Hi there =-).  I've managed to gather some family stories regarding her disposition, but I haven't been able to prove/disprove any of it.  Am I right when I say her sister was your great aunt/direct relative and she came to Canada with her?  Did you ever find out what happened to her?  The IndianHead history book doesnt' mention her at all but she obviously came with her.  There was also at least two more children with George that lived after coming to Canada, not sure the whereabouts of the Frank mentioned above, but there was another that either is still alive or recently deceased...trying to sort out his whereabouts.  I also know there was at least one girl, possibly two that were also born to a different father.  Serious drama family history =-).

Hello, I know this is a late response, but I am with one of the Polsom line and have contacted Nicky, but I also noticed your inquiry on Cooper, and yes, they are connected! Harriet's oldest son George married Earnest Cooper's daughter, and my fiancee is his great grandson, and is the spitting image of him! There is a portrait hanging in my Polsom's father's house, I would gladly take a picture of it and pass it along if you are interested! And I might be able to get some answers for you as well. Let me know.  Ana
