do not know about looking just for one soldier but the 10th London Regiment was The Hackney Battalion. If you  google "10th London Regiment" there are anumber of sites that deal with this regiment one that you could look at is http://www.regiments.org you will have to do a search of the site to get to the 10th's page but once there it gives some of the history and time line for them. Hope it is of some use.

Thanks I have already visited that site.  :(

He states his father was a Raphel Harris a Diamond Cutter Deceased.

I can not find him on the 1901 census he may have been abroad somewhere?

The only Raphael I can find is a Head of a Jewish Establishment in Paddington.

Oh well never mind I suppose he will turn up some day.

Thank you for your help much appreciated.

Hi Annie

I know his name was Frederick Harris aged 30 on marriage.

He married at St Jude's Bethnal Green which was a C of E

His wife says her father was Louis Baker an Actor.

Nothing more I am afraid.

Looks like this is his medal card ! and you can download it for 3 pounds 50 ..... but it's not going to give you any family information but it will be a start to try and find his service record - having his numbers is a big plus !........ if you download it .... lets see if the guys can read it for you !

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

As you so rightly say it is a lead however small.

Will have a look on how to do it.
