I know nothing else about him, I got all this info from the marriage certificate

I always believe genealogists ..... 

so how come Foz says in her signature that her SMITHs come from Leicestershire??

Why not wait quietly like a good chap?

You have to speculate to accumulate. 

You know more about this than you are letting on (oh yes you do!) 

For this chap to be your ancestor, you must know the name, date and place of birth (even if roughly) of at least one of his offspring - these facts will help to locate the family on later censuses.

Have a wrack of your brains and i'll bet you have a few more facts at your disposal.

Can you help us? should be the question!!

Park Street is South of Oxford Street, and beween Grosvenor Square and Hyde Park. Ddead posh, so probably not the home of a servant, but more likely of William's employer.

He did say in his original post it is his great-great-grandfather.  Maybe he is testing, to see how good Rootschatters are.
