Another Noob question

Im gonna make myself sound a bit nooby here but im not afraid of the ridicule, so here goes.

Where does one go to get access to Army records?

We now have 3 relatives who spent time in the forces (mainly wartime) and the family stories dont tally with the few facts we have.

Are we allowed access to this info?
