he has a wound stripe on his arm, as OR has said and it's his machine gunner badge above it, LG or MG in a laurel wreath

Thanks Harribobs, it was just a thought as I was not sure when the Brodricks where non issue (as such) I know that they were around prior to the 1st ww but did not know if they stretched into the conflict, so to speak.

ah so thats what the badge is above the wound stripe, as I said before I just couldn't make it out meself.

sorry but other than he has no cap badge I can not get anything from this as the imagine, once blown up, is not  clear enough for me to see the shoulder insignia.

We will try again later this Evening to claify  "What looks like two pips"  If my memory serves me well, I believe he was my Grandmothers brother, from Nth Ireland. County Antrim.

discount those 'two pips'  he is not an officer, he is wearing OR's SD (other ranks service dress) under his coat

i will try and clean up the shoulder title tonight unless someone does it in the meantime
