Hi Gemmac

Jonathon and wife were certainly not in Gnosall in 1841.

Are you positively sure they were still alive. Could you give me some of their childrens names, because there are a lot of Myatts in Gnosall in the 1841 census that could be their children. I will have a dig further afield for Jonathon and Wife.

I can let you have details of any other Myatts in Gnosall in 1841 if you can give me names.

Hi Gemmac

I have found two possible burials at Gnosall for Jonathon and Ann, however the two people are quite a bit older than your ages, but that means nothing. I would hazzard a guess these two are your people.

Let me know what you think.

The dates of death would account for them not appearing in the 1841 census.

4   Feb   1835   Ann   MYATT   76   Staffs   Gnosall, St Lawrence
7   Dec   1834   Jonathan   MYATT   81   Staffs   Gnosall, St Lawrence

The following would then be a fair bet for their wedding. Pretty well spot for ages at marriage i.e. 29 and 24

1. On 29 JAN 1783 at Gnosall in county of STS Groom Jonathan MYATT Status – Occupation – Residence – in county of – Notes – Bride Ann JAMES Status – Occupation – Residence – in county of – Notes – Banns or Licence – General Notes – Source –

What say you ?
Regards

Tony

Thank you Tony for that info, I did not have their death dates. I did have the marriage date.

Where did you get the death dates from?

They should be the parents of my James Myatt (39)and Elizabeth (30) in 1841 census.

I maybe a little off track...will have to do some more digging  ;D

Hi Gemmac (in sunny NZ)

Good morning from frosty England.

I found the burial details in the NBI (National Burial Index)

Its a 4 volume CD set. It is available from the Federation of Family History Societies. It came out 2004.

Can I also commend this site to you for the sort of area your are researching. Included is the 1841 census for Gnosall.

Its an absolute gem.

If you need any further help in this or any other area, please let me know. I can appreciate how difficult it must be when you don't live on the doorstep.

Luuuuv New Zealand.

We took a cruise 3 years ago starting in Auckland and finishing in Sydney Auz. We took in Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin. We were supposed to then cruise the fjords but the ship developed a slight problem, so we couldn't do it. We then had more time in Tasmania, missed out Melbourne, again because of the problem, and finished in Sydney again with more time.

Happy memories of NZ and the people there.

Look forward to hearing from you again.

Tony  :)

Hi Tony,

Thanks for reminding me about Penny's site. Yes, it does have a lot of information on there.

I have only recently come back to my "Myatt" line in Staffordshire because of hitting brick walls in Lancashire.  ;D

Glad you liked NZ. I have been to all those places you mentioned and it has been many years since I was in England.
