The last is strange as he maries in 1872 and in 1891 he still lives with his ellen?

Why strange - the oldest daughter Pauline is born 1874 ish ..... as shown on 1891, by 1901 Ellen is shown a Widow with only Gabrielle at home ...

Could be, as they trade mammals from many other trading places around the world (like Paris, berlin and so on). And his father lived in Amsterdam.
