That possibly explains why I couldn't find them in 1861!

Can't help with William Pearson I'm afraid. If you have the 1855 marriage cert you'll get his father's name from that. But as Walsoken was (and still is as far as I know) in Norfolk you're best advised to request a look up on the Norfolk board for his baptism

   David you would never guess it but his fathers name is William Pearson!!
William and Mary Sturman witnesses,he was 50 and Sarah 38 interesting she is 38 and just having her first baby!
