Merthyr, Kirkhouse Annexe
« on: Thursday 01 February 07 13:40 GMT (UK) »
According to his death certificate my Great Grandfather died in 1944 in 'Kirkhouse Annex, Merthyr U.D.'. Does anybody have any information on this building? Thank you, Stiofán

Hi Stiofan (sorry - can't manage the accent on the 'a'),

There is a photo of the Kirkhouse in the 1970s on this site:

Click on Dynevor Street on the site front page photo.

The building later became a nightclub, also known as Koolers, but I'm afraid I can't help on its history or what it might have been in 1944. No doubt, others will be able to.

Hope this helps a little more
