Baptism - Samuel WHITTEN/WHITING - Hitcham
« on: Friday 02 February 07 21:20 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am looking for the baptism of Samuel Whiting / Whitten.  He was born c. 1725 in Hitcham.  I am particularly looking for the names of his parents.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Lisa

I looked at Hitcham PRs but unfortunately the writing was feint and quite hard to read.

I found a baptism for a Jane Whiten, d/o Samuel Whiten and his wife Jane
3rd Mach 1724.

They look like a possible match for your Samuel's parents, and I tried really hard to find his baptism but could not see it (does not mean it wasn't there though).

At least this might give you something to go on.

Best wishes
Anne

Don't forget there is a lot of information on Hitcham and Hitcham families on www.cosford-database.co.uk

However, having said that we are having a lot of problems at the moment and both the www.suffolk-surnames-list.co.uk web site and Cosford Database are off the air at the moment - working to get it fixed asap
