Essex Simmonds/Simmons look up request

I am looking for information re Lydia Simmons/Simmonds the daughter of William Simmonds.
I have found the certificate of her marriage to Thomas Edward Hedgcock 3/11/1872 West Ham. Her age was stated as 19 (b.1853). I have found them on the 1891 Census at 62 Burnham St., West Ham, her age stated as 36 (b.1855), and born in West Ham. In 1901 Thomas was living at 6 Stephenson St., without Lydia. On the Birth Certificate of their daughter Gertrude Ellen 4/1/1882 her name is spelt Simmons but on the other documents it is Simmonds. I cannot find record of her birth or death or locate her on any other Census. Can anyone help. Many Thanks

I havent looked at the 1901, was Thomas shown as a Widower ?

UPDATE: OK, he wasnt - and the daughters Harriet and Gertrude are there - so the 24 year old daughter Edith missed the 1881 census .....

Lydia must be visiting elsewhere - if the Death Entry is correct ...

Roy, to summarise:

- Lydia was born in Upwell Norfolk - see above BMD entry
- In 1881 she and Thomas were at the same address in which you found them in 1891 - her PoB closely matches the 1871 family, and the Wisbeach District BMD entry
- In 1901, either she was missed in the headcount for the household of her daughter and son-in-law, or she is elswhere visiting ...
- The death record for 1911 is for someone of the right age.

I cant find her family in 1861 just yet, to be able to tell you who her mother was ...

Many thanks for all the replies they are most helpful. What threw me was that in the 1891 census I thought that Lydia was born in West Ham which set me on the wrong track.
