This is certainly a possibility ems girl.Could it be baker rather than painter?

Catherine could already have gone to Merthyr, maybe they followed her there.
John and Ann weren`t born in the county but that could just be the enumerator.......

If they are still there on the 1851 it wouldn`t be them.

Could someone reading this please see if they are still there on the Mon 1851 please.

Hi Carrie Ann

It really helps to post everything you know, so this must be the family you are searching for in 1851?

HO107/2459/256/37

John JONES H M 63 - journey man baker - Radnor Llirow (sic)
Anne W M 61 - Hereford Town
Louisa dau U (or W?) 21 - at home - Brecon Town

Address: New South Wales St, Upper Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan

I agree that the one Emsgirl found in 1841 is close and the occupation there certainly looks like painter.

Why do you think they might be in Monmouthshire in 1841?

;)

Thank you Arran for taking time to sort that. I had to dash to work and didn't have time to follow up.
Will see if anything else comes up for them.

Thanks for trying emsgirl and arran so often two or three heads are better than one.

This is what I have
John Jones b Clyro 1787 Ann b Hereford town c 1790
Mary Ann b Chepstow 1818
Catherine b LeighGLS1821
Louisa b Brecon Town  1830

Mary Ann marries in 1846 and lives in Hay(James Michael)
Catherine marries in 1843 and lives in Merthyr(Walter Chambers)
1851 their  parents  John and Ann turn up on the Merthyr Census
After 1861 Catherine (widow) remarries (widow) lives in Merthyr with her father (not sure yet when he died) until 1891 when she turns up in Hay.

As John is a journeyman baker,I thought that meant he travelled around a lot but apparently it means he would have served an apprenticeship so must have been in one place long enough to do that.

As I haven`t been able to find theem so far in Brecon ,Hereford or Glam I was hoping they might be in Monmouthshire as they had lived there before. I want to find them to see if they had anymore children as there is such a big gap between Catherine and Louisa. They are my g,g,grandparents.
