Thanks Barbara

i suppose there is every possibility that they married after having Clara, and before the next baby was due  ;). Everything fits with names and places.

Barbara......

I found this on family search .........it seems a bit strange .....what do you think ?

Martha Wilden born 1846 Malton

Clara Elizabeth Wilden born 9 nov 1868
Died  9th June 1926 Middlesbrough.

I am not sure when Clara Kitson died but it is so strange the coincidence of names don't you think ? and to have it down as dying with the Wilden name still .

Ok, so it's from the IGI, but what's the source?

Oh I see, its a submitted pedigree:

"About Ancestral File:

Well, as we thought John & Matilda may well have married after Sarah & Clara's birth, her birth was possibly registered under Matilda's maiden name.

As to the Ancestral file, I don't think they're saying her death was registered under Wilden, just that usually you refer to a female by her maiden name

Yes of course Barbara that is how it would have been filed, under Wilsden. Thank you for  explaining that to me :)

Birth for Clara Elizabeth Wildon  December Qu 1868 Malton 9d 836 if you want to order the cert - but - it may not be her
Just looked at the ancestral file and it says she married Arthur Marsh, gives her death and burial etc - perhaps we've got the wrong family after all  ???  You can click on the submitter's details for his addrss if you want to contact him...
