Hello

Seems strange that he was in Dumbarton 1910 & died there, as the only marriage I can find is

John Mitchell
to
Catherine Ward
Mar Q 1915
registered in Lambeth
volume 1d
page 423

Do you have an occupation for this chap? as, on the 1901 census, there is a John Mitchell born Scotland c1862 & a boarder in Hanover Sq, London ?

francis mitchell married ann keays 13/7/1860 gorbals, glasgow

children from this marriage

ann...28/4/1861
john...27/10/1862
elizabeth...6/2/1865
mary...4/3/1867
agnes...30/11/1869
elizabeth...19/3/1871
francis...7/2/1874

all children born gorbals

a look up of the 1871 census for hutchiesontown would help to confirm this.

regarding the 1861 census i cannot help as it looks like francis and ann could be staying with parents.

maybe the death certs would help in getting back a little further

Joe
helping wherever possible

You may have this already, a possible marriage for John:

1886   MITCHELL JOHN/ WARD & CATHERINE   ANDERSTON   GLASGOW CITY/LANARK   644/10 0015

Young love perhaps  ::) Also the only marriage showing in Scotland between 1881-1931.

Regards.
