Is it my dad or not
« on: Tuesday 06 February 07 17:00 GMT (UK) »
I will get the photo's up first this time ::)After writing the post it said i already had the same name and to change the title ???.Last night i gave the full photo ,on the left to my son to look at.And commented on how much he looked like his granddad. Then he saw this photo,i have had both photo's for years but never took much notice of this one.Beacause it was of a Gun Crew, never knew why mum had it really both photo's were taken in 1940. However my son pointed to the man on the left with the rifle? and said thats him as well :o .The  card is signed  on the back by the 10 crew. Does the first one say C.E.Jones? and is it the same man as on the left,My Dad

Hi Celia

I think it says C E Jones, and I'd go with your son, by the length of the face and the high hair line.

Have a look on the photo restoration board, there are some old posts there about measuring faces to cement a suspicion, or if you can't find them perhaps post both photos and ask?

Wendi  :)

I would definetly say the man in the beret is your dad what a handsome chap he was! His hands are the same also. I'm a bit of a hand person. Take a look they look quite fleshy from the wrist to the thumb. The face is definitely him, high forehead and same nose.
Hope you get the definitive recognition you want from the photo experts.
My money would be on the beret man.
good luck

Seems everybody has gone for the same guy as me, but after taking a further look at the one your son chose then I'm puzzled, unless of course since there are two Jones, could they possibly be brothers?
