Marriage Register

I have recently been able to access the image of a marriage on Scotlands People. Unfortunately it does not give the names of the parents as hoped. This is for 1814 to 1817.
Has anyone any idea as to where I can find this information or is this the end of the line in Scotland.

Not sure about your specific area but what you get in the OPR marriages is what's available. There might be something in the Kirk Sessions minutes books oryou could  possibly trace baptisms or sibs marriages.

Sadly, it all depended on what the person entering the info thought was worth entering.

added - if they died in Scotland  1855 or after, their parents' names should be on any death certificate.

Angus McIntyre, death (Scotlands People) has Duncan McIntyre & Mary or Marg Campbell as parents but I cannot find a birth.

Then the LDS has Donald McIntyre & Anne Ferguson for his birth(no place) and marriage to Katrin or Catherine Taylor (Skipness) which is where his family were born and grew up and where he eventually died.

I have been going round in circles for 3 years and keep running into the same brick wall.
