My Grandmother Leah Fletcher was apparently born in the Forest area Mon/Glos. Leah apparently born on the 20th April 1903. No birth cert exists with the GRO.
When my Grandmother (aged 22) married Frederick Powell (aged 22, son of John) in 1927 the declared father of Leah was Austin Fletcher, now Austin as is Leah isn't a common christian name. Grandmother Leah had (apparently) a sister by the names of Lil (Lilian?) who was older, and brothers by the names of Harry, Austin, Jack, and Alfred who was a couple of years younger than Leah and (apparently) mother died during/soon after the childbirth of Alfred, Alfred was (apparently) adopted and went to live abroad with his new parents.
Is Leah's (Forest of Dean) father Austin connected to this Lancs lot ? is Austin Richard Fletcher her father ? and did he move to the forest area after he got married at the end of 1901?
I have purchased two Leah birth certs, one in 1904 at Wolverhampton, father Henry Fletcher (Shallum Fletcher had a grandson called Harry!) Mother's name Leah Fletcher formerly Golder.
And

Leah's parents are John Fletcher (Shallum Fletcher had a son named John) and mother was a Rosannah Fletcher formerly Higgins and they lived at Newton.
I have purchased a mar cert of an Austin Richard Fletcher (son of Samuel and grandson of Shallum) Austin (aged 22) married Emily Butterworth (aged 21) on the 14th Nov 1901 at Middleton in Lancashire, Austin's father is Samuel Fletcher and Emily's father is Sam Butterworth (decd), the witnesses, Harry Fletcher and Ellen Butterworth.
