COMPLETED w.thanks...Marriage Lookup pls HARRIS and MAUNDER possibly Plymouth
« on: Wednesday 07 February 07 01:52 GMT (UK) »
Dear Rootschatters, Hi there.  Can anyone find a marriage record between groom George John HARRIS (chr 24 Mar 1822 Bere Ferris, Plymouth, Devon, England) AND bride Eliza MAUNDER?

Extra details: George's parents were: Francis HARRIS and Mary GREGORY who had married 25 May 1805 Tamerton Foliot Village, Plymouth.  I have been researching the family of Samuel Gregory HARRIS born 1816 Tamerton Foliot that emigrated to New Zealand in 1841 on ship "Slains Castle".  Samuel was my MIL (mother in law's) 2g grandfather.  I'm lucky enough to even have a photograph of him which great rootschatters have restored to perfection.  ;D

We know that 2.Samuel Gregory HARRIS had three siblings, 1.William George Gregory HARRIS chr 1814; 3.Jane Elizabeth HARRIS chr 1819; and 4.George John HARRIS (as mentioned above).  All children christened Tamerton Foliot Village.  Source: Tamerton Foliot Baptism Registers - data provided by another HARRIS researcher.

Kind regards,
Alison in Queensland, Australia.

Oh Deb thank you so much.  I've just been googling Devonshire Church Albums and found a lovely photo online of the church they would have been married in - St.Andrew & St.Luke.  Boy do I love the internet!  And I love rootschatters!  ;D

Thanks,
Alison.

Hello Ailson,
My gg/grandparents were George John HARRIS and his wife Eliza (born MAUNDER).   If you are following this line, I would be very interested to hear from you.
Regards,
Graham Harris
