Can anyone tell me anything about this photo

Can anyone tell me anything about this photo. I would be most grateful if you could tell me if it
is Sussex Regiment or Royal West Kent.  My grandad is on the left his name is George Cherry.
any help gratefully received.

It strikes me as being a little odd, that neither are wearing shoulder flashes.

If you know your grandfathers Regt Number, it is possible to find out who he served with.

6404938 was his number . A Sussex Regiment number.

Hi Lee

It's an interesting one as there are no cap badges which would confirm a regiment.

Both men have obviously been decorated.  So their service is now longstanding. 

Do you have an appoximate date you think the photo might be?

if i had to guess, i'd say they were campaign medal ribbons and the photo is post 1945

It's a Shame we can't tell what the Colour ribbons are wouln't this tell me what they were for and were.

I would agree with Harribobs on this with regards to the medal ribbons and would also say that they appear to be the 39-45 Star/The War Medal/ and Defence Medal for both men. Also to note is that the BD blouse looks newish.
