First off,you were right again,WW1+2 got mixed up in my quick note,s.Mea culpa!
Thank you for your generous offer,the wanted man is a Binsteed,George.Last mention in the 1881 census,1st of the 10th,Anglesey Barrack,s Portsea.18y.o at the time,born 1863 Ireland.
He hasn't shown up in Medal card,s as yet,but maybe I have not been in the correct era!
All help gratefully received.

Rest easy,I may have solved the riddle of my
George Binsteed.
It all revolve,s about the 'Steed'portion of the name,this man was not one of mine.I believe he belong,s to a family now traced to Queensland,Australia.('Stead' surname.)

1898,1st Batt;Lincoln,s detained in Egypt instead of proceeding to India in relief.
