Hi George

I thought I might have a go at this one for you, but what is a "Hames"?   :-\

I am bound to get the colours all wrong, so bare with me and once it's coloured we can alter them.  Someone else may give you a brilliant version and then you won't have to bother with mine.  I am having trouble with my screen colour and people keep telling me the hair is red, when on my screen it is definately brown, so there you go, something is cockeyed somewhere.  :-\ :-\ :-\

I shall try never the less and see what we come up with.  ;D ;D ;D

Cheers Lones (ever optimistic!!)

Hi Lones,

Hames - Brass bendy pipe bits round Horse Collar, (with points sticking up). Chains attach to these for draught purposes. The big leathery bit is padding to protect the horse's neck.

Best regards George

Hi George

To colour such a nice picture would spoil it.

Okay George, here's the thing, I have no idea what colour chestnut is  ???, not being a "horsey" person.  So here is a small version of what I have done.  :-\ :-\

Let me know which bits I have wrong ( hopefully not the whole thing  :-[ )

I will fix it before posting a larger copy

Cheers

Hi Lones,

Oh yes!! WOW!!

I can nearly smell them again now. Colours in second are spot on, darker nearly black for horse manes if you can?

Considerate colouring is just what was needed. I wanted to see Gypsy and Duke in colour again. I was same age as girl in photo when it was taken with - wait for it - No2 Box Brownie. Great range of tones for a camera that was merely a box with a hole in the front of it.

This great!

Best regards George
