I have borrowed some old family pics from a cousin. This is one of my mums brothers. Could it be lightened a bit. Anyone know what regiment this is. Thanks

Just a quick levels and contrast adjustment, and a bit of over sharpening, before going to bed

Hi Pandora,

Without a better picture of the cap badge I can only suggest that it resembles that of the Wiltshire Regiment, this being a "Maltese" cross surmounted by a crown with a scroll under the cross with the legend "The Wiltshire Regiment" on it.  He is dressed in what I would call "Walking out" dress with his high blancoed white buff belt and polished brass. Seeing that there are no medal ribbons shown and going by the birth year that you have given I would suggest that this was a mid war photograph, perhaps taken sometime between 1940 to 45.
