Locating burials...
« on: Saturday 10 February 07 10:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi I have a death certificate listing a death in 1852 in Childswickham in Worcs/Glos.  How do I go about finding a grave or at least a burial site?

Thanks

Tracy

The most obvious place would be the local churchyard.  Can you post the name of the deceased?
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

St May's the Virgin is the parish church at Childswickham. Going further afield are the parishes of Badsey, Broadway and Evesham.

Hi thanks for the links

Her name is Isabella Keyte, I suspected she would have been buried in Childswickham grave yard as she died in the village. I had a wonder around there a year or so ago but there are very few marked graves of that time (1852), as most of the community were ag. labs. There are a lot of 'mounds' which are obviously unmarked graves.
