Newspaper Wedding Photographs

How well can newspaper photograhps be made clearer...I didn't find them very workable.. ...I have three newsaper cuttings of wedding photographs of my cousins taken in St. John's, Nfld.
Any suggestions please!

Not very well. The dots in newspaper pic's are very big - so unless it is a full page pic' (unlikely) then you just have to make the best of it.
Having said that there is a prog' out there (can't remember the name at the present) that will merge the dots - but does soften the image.

Thanks for that Denn...They are quite big....but very yellowed as they date back to the 1950s...maybe I will just make do with them as they are!

I scan at at the highest resolution available to me, this gives  an enormous image, I then keep reducing the size by 60% until I have an acceptable picture. This works for me, so you may want to give it a go.

This is a long shot !

If you know which newspaper and the date , maybe you could contact them to see if they have archives . They might have a better picture . Or , at least be able to tell you where the source picture came from.
