Can anyone tell me where I might get hold of my GT Grandfather's Army Records. According to his Marriage certificate in 1887 he was a Private in South Staffordshire Regt and was at the Citerdal Plymouth Devon.

I do not know how long he was in the army but I have found him on the 1871 census and he was 10 years old then but he is not on 1881 census and on 1891 census he is not in the Army.

I cannot find his birth but according to census was born c1861 at Wolverhampton Staffordshire.

Would be glad of any help

Thank you for the links I have tried on National archives (not the easiest site to use) but cannot find him and I and a few other people have tried the BMD sites. In fact I sent for a birth certificate that was thought to be him with his Father's name as a reference but I got an email from GRO saying it was not the right person.

Yes Annie that is the one I sent for and I am almost possitive I have the right Father.
