Hi Joanna,

I just sent you an email.

I also wanted to post here for the benefit of all the Gallacher/Morrow researchers this 1851 census entry find.

I'm not 100% sure that this is our Mary, wife of John Gallacher - but it sure looks likely.

Main Street, Mrs Yates West property, Duntocher, Old Kilpatrick
ED9, household #31, line 9, roll CSSCT1851_107

Mary Morrow, head, age 40, beggar, born Ireland
James Morrow, son, age 12, beggar, born Ireland
**Mary Morrow, daughter, age 10, born Ireland
Margret Morrow, daughter, age 6, born Ireland
Ann Morrow, daughter, age 4, born Ireland
Helen Morrow, daughter, age 3, born Ireland.

No sign of the husband - William Morrow, and no marital status is recorded on the transcript of Mary Morrow.  So she is either widowed, or William is away working.  I was taken aback at the occupation of beggar for both Mary and her son James.  You can only imagine the hardships that they faced.

I don't have anything further on what happened to James, Ann or Helen Morrow.  Margaret married Henry Field jan 21, 1875 at Duntocher.
In the 1881 census they are living on the Faifley Road, Old Kilpatrick with 3 children -  William, Henry & Mary
And Henry Field's Brother - William Field, age 27, born Ireland, Handicapped, Imbicile.  (poor soul!)
