unusual headstone
« on: Sunday 11 February 07 20:38 GMT (UK) »
This afternoon I had a walk around Southampton Old Cemetrey and found this unsual headstone. I spoke to a man who was also fascinated by it and he thought maybe someone who fought in the Boer War. The writing on headstone was hard to read that's why I am posting a photo of it. Maybe somebody can read it.

It is unusual, gjil, but I can't easily read it. Did you make notes when you where there?

I think I read the name as Matilda Morris.

Makes the military imagery even more interesting.

Hi Meles,

it was so hard to read it maybe because of the sunlight on it. I will have to go back and have another look. It's only down the road.

I have found that if you take photos at early morning or late afternoon, the sunlight cast shadows that makes it much easier to read.

Assuming that it's sunny....  ::)
