Hello lambkin and David

My information comes from Victor Medlock. One-Name Study. He kindly gave me a lot of information about the Medlock family. That is where the "believed to be" came from.
I was also in contact with Sharon she descends from Alexander Medlock & Mary Jakes. She has my Thomas as the son of Alexander b1724 Meppershall and Elizabeth Ashwell born c1744 Blunham.

I will do some further research. At the time I was just looking for information about my ggg grandmother Caroline Medlock.

It looks as if I may share a 5x g grandparent with you David.

Regards RBC

I have some Ashwells in my Tree from Bedfordshire. I go back to Thomas Ashwell 1682c-1750 in Cardington, Bedfordshire who married Sarah Cross 1690c-1721. They had a son Cross Ashwell b.1715c. There descendants were from Lidlington and Kempston. Are these any relations to your families?

Carol.
Beds: Turner, Sturges, Ashwell, Wildman, Collins, Cheesman.
Cumberland: Graves, Kegg, Hutchinson.
Durham: Palmer, Hewison.

Nothing in mine I'm afraid, although I haven't really looked at the Ashwells, just the Medlocks

Hi David. I am just curious. How far back does your Medlock line go?

Hi again.
I've just looked at your names. I also have Cooper and Watts in my tree. I wonder if we have any other connections? At present I am getting a lot of information about Rawlins/Rawlings and Clark/Clarke other Bedfordshire families in my tree.

My earliest Medlock (Madlock actually) is Henry who married in 1619 in Eltisley, Cambs

Where are your Coopers and Watts from in Beds?

My Cooper's are from Haynes and Southill and my Watts are from Cople. Both some distance from your families, and of course common names.

I got an email from RootsChat this morning about the Ashwell's so was just looking at the entries.

I am very taken up with the Rawlins at the moment but must get back to the Medlocks soon and try to confirm that Alexander Medlock and Elizabeth Ashwell were Thomas Medlock's parents. Is that a fact as far as you concerned? If so it appears we both go back to Henry Madlock from Alexander.

Are you part of Victor Medlocks One-Name study?

Hi Lambkin

I have just traced the Ashwell's back on IGI and my Elizabeth Ashwell (if she is in fact mine, see previous entry) goes back to your Edmund Ashwell c1538 in Totterhoe/Tottenhoe. There is definitely an Elisabeth Ashwell who was born in Sutton.
