When he married in 1897 in Sussex to Sarah is marriage cert said corp in army.
His best man and best friend was also in Dragoon Guards 3rd Harry Garrett Georges wife Sarah and Harry were half brother and sister so guess George met sarah through him.  They must have had some leave at the time. george went to the Curragh after marriage and i know at least one of the children was born there in 1900 my grandfather Frank there were 4 others but not managed to track them yet.
