If you need any details to help me

Edward Callender b.1820 Ovingham
I know he married Catherine, but dont know her maiden name.
I found that in 1861 Winlaton Durham census Eward was a GP/surgeon but he was dead by the 1871 census as his wife and children are in the census and she is widow.
I think i just found him in an 1841 census for houghton le spring age 20 as surgeon
Any info on Edwards past please if you can help that way
Thankyou again

No I've just had a good look through  :(

Could his family  have been Roman Catholic or non-Conformist?

There's the general genuki info on Ovingham's Church records here

i think i just found his marriage to Catherine and her maiden name was Newton.
married 17th Aug 1854 All saints Newcastle.
He was called Edward Emerson Callender. How can i find fro certain if it is him.
I only feel its them as they hada daughter Mary ann newton Callender, my gran, and they got the newton from catherines surname.
Thats all i had to go on really. :-\

Hi  :)

Well the evidence points to this as the correct marriage - his name, daughter's name, etc.

I'd order the certificate and get his father's name. Have you checked all the census entries for him to make sure that the Ovingham birthplace is consistent?

Regards

I don't think there's an Oringham - I lived down there for quite a while and have never heard of it and it certainly doesn't appear on any of the map sites. It looks like it could be Ovingham mis-read.

However, I'd get the marriage cert.
