On the 1841 census Maria would have been 20 and likely to have been working away from home as a servant.

I apologise for not getting back to you before but have had a few problems.

Any records would probably be at the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester.  There are Sherwoods in the local telephone directory, but none in Kimpton.
