Found a couple for you...saw your "new" post  and thought I'd answer an old one....J.J.

THOMAS MC MANUS
Birth:  21 DEC 1867  Roscommon, Ireland

Father: THOMAS MC MANUS
Mother: BRIDGET KEOGH

WILLIAM MC MANUS
Birth:  20 JUN 1870, Roscommon, Ireland
Father: THOMAS MC MANUS
Mother: BRIDGET KEOGH

and being that this was a popular name to couple here's one for you to chew on: JAMES MCMANUS   ,b. 10 MAR 1867 , Brideswell, Roscommon, Ireland
        Mary McManus  b. 25 MAY 1873Roscommon, Ireland
BRIDGET MCMANUS  b.29 NOV 1864, Brideswell, Roscommon, Ireland
     Father:  MARTIN MCMANUS
     Mother:  MARY KEOGH

Hi JJ
Sorry it has taken so long for this reply, but I've been waiting for my sister to come up and sort through our paperwork. We are pretty sure that the Thomas and William Mcmanus you have here are ours, but although we also have a James, Mary and Bridget in that family, their parents Martin and Mary are too far from Thomas and Bridget to be ours. Can you tell me where you sourced that info from?
We have a rambling family history of the Mcmanuses typed up in the late 70's by a distant cousin from WA which suggests that there were initially 2 branches of the family living very close to each other at Nure and Ardnanure. They all seem to have the same names so it can get very confusing.
Cheers

I just tried several different things, I think on the family search site...
I like to sqeeze whatever info I can out of it...
and the 2nd set was just for fun , as it was a reverse combination of the same last names...and who knows, maybe distant cousins....

all the best, J.J.

Thanks J.J. I have gone over the site you gave but it doesn't look like there is much more there that fits our McManus clan.

Back to google I guess.

Hi there,

I ordered the parish register for St. Peter's Church in Athlone and on some of the pages I was looking at was the name McManus, it's in latin, which for me makes it difficult

Some of the names from the year 1829:
Patrick McManus
Michael McManus
Maria McManus
Thomas McManus

If you're interested in any of this, let me know.

Karen

Who all came to Canada in a little row boat, clap clap, clap your hands!!

Oh, I think that Karen has found the birth dates of the ancestors for you...
Hi, Karen!!!!

Have you searched this before, for the siblings?  Some McManus to be found
in roscommon,(only one "s", remember!) although I don't see Brideswell...!
but your barony is Athlone.....Lots of results! (barony, county, surname leave rest blank for best results)
http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census/census.shtml

a Bridget & Katie with a Michael which could be your man...he's in the right spot
but just to confuse the issue...2 more Michaels, also there!

Two Owens and the same age and certainly the right age...

John of the right age....lots more have fun!

This was a new find for me, deadants, so it may not be listed in the Ireland
list of available information, if you want to submit it...  J.J.

p.s.  did anything match your Rose, Hanah, etc...in the freepages.genealogy
site in above message on this page?

Maybe the parish would be happy to pass on your requests for information on ancestors...as I am sure there are still living ancestors attending...

Hi JJ,

Thanks for that link, I can use it as well.  I got so frustrated last night looking at the register, I am now versing myself in Latin so when I go back again to look, I'll know what I'm looking at!

They didn't teach Latin when I went to school!
