Ah well some you win (hope Arsenal aren't saying that later, for your sake - I am watching, cos there is nothing better on)

You might need to send for RC reinforcements...

Thanks, both of you, for trying.

I guess I'll have to buy the certificate for the 1874 marriage and see if it is my man - and if it opens any doors on his missing years :)

Sorry, for the delay - Arsenal scored :)

Rugby my boy that's the game!

You might need to send for RC reinforcements... :-\ ;D

Sorry Gareth no reinforcements, just like to register my interest (and frustration) having Scott's in Monmouth from 1790's who then moved to Glamorganshire

Who had a name like Scott in God's own country  ::)

Keep in touch !

Wendi  :)

I agree, Wendi - rugby's the game (see the pic on the left), but after Saturday at Murrayfield I'm keeping my head down.

Inquiries about the George Scott marrying in 1874 revealed that this man's father was not a John, so presumably is not my man.
I still can't find him in 1871 either; presumably the answer to that query will provide a hint to the mystery first wife. We can but hope....
