Me again!!

I just tried using your method of first name only and have found Charles in the 61 and 71 as Woodley and Worthy, Eli was with him in the 61 but he seems to have gained another daughter in 71 but the transcription on that one is terrible, but in both apart from his day job he is down as a Methodist preacher which does fit in with that side of my family.

Haven't located him in the 51 ...................yet!

Well done Joanna!!!!!  Why on earth didn't I spot that ;D ;D

He must be somewhere in 1851 then..............was he still in Shropshire in the 61 and 71?  What's his place of birth?

In the 71 he has his daughter and son in law with him.  I found Susannah's birth 1841 must have been after the census and marriage to John Hulse in 1870 but she's not with Charles in 61, although might have found her as a servant in Dawley.

Still all elusive in 51!

Hello again Joanna

I think that you might find Charles and Mary Ann and some children at HO107/1997 Folio 342 Page 13 in 1851.  Surname written as Whoodley.

Hope that helps a bit

Well done DS ;)

I'd popped back to this thread to start looking again in the 51, and hey presto, you found them.

Hello again Lloydy.

Please pardon me butting into your conversation before you had finished. I think that I only found them as a result of the work that you had done last Friday. Since you had already looked for Charles and Eli etc I knew that there must be something very odd about the entries for them if you had not found them. So I concentrated on Mary (Ann) from Staffordshire and up they came.

Best wishes

DS ;)

ps My links still do not change colour when using Firefox but it now supports the enhanced image viewer.

I don't mind at all :) In this hobby I always think several pairs of eyes are better than one!!!!!

Joanna will be pleased, which is the important thing :D

(I'm still using Firefox and, like you, my links don't change colour either.  Quite often I find myself looking at the same person more than once ;D  The enhanced image viewer is better though :D)

Hi guys I'm here - have been away for the weekend.  Thanks DS for finding them in the 51, I'll get right on to that and have a look.

If I had any clue what the two of you were talking about Firefox, I'd make a comment, but I haven't!!!!  ???
